Graphic Designer

Job Type:  Contract 

​

Compensation: Pay rate starting at $16 per hour, commensurate with experience, for candidates applying in the US. Pay scale will be adjusted based on the cost-of-living in the applicant’s country of residence 

 

Hours:  Flexible, Up to 20 hours per week 

​

Location:  This position is 100% remote and open to applicants worldwide.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The following list of job duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and is subject to change in accordance with the evolution of this role and continued program expansion and recognition globally.

​

Specific Job-Related Duties

​

The ECP Graphic Designer may (but is not limited to):

​

  • Provide availability via email to respond to communications

    • ​Communicate with the Manager assigned to a task as needed and attend coordinated virtual meetings

    • Participate in virtual meetings with other team members or members of management as needed

    • Submit hours worked through a designated form no later than midnight local time on Sunday prior to payroll
       

  • Assist with Communications department tasks, such as:

    • Visual Asset Creation: Design high-quality, clear, and engaging digital and print materials, including social media graphics, email headers, videos, landing pages, flyers, billboards, public-facing documents, and other graphic designs. 

      • Edit short-form educational reels 

      • Create simple motion graphics and animated text overlays

      • Typical weekly projects may include:

        • 3–5 social graphics

        • 1–2 carousel posts

        • Newsletter, blog, and PR assets

    • Brand Stewardship: Adhere to brand guidelines (color palettes, typography, and logo usage) to ensure consistency across all channels.

    • Concept Development: Collaborate with the marketing or creative team to brainstorm and execute original visual concepts for specific campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications:

​

  • Proficient in Google Workspace

  • Experience working in Monday.com or similar task management systems

  • Experience in Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Strong and diverse design portfolio

  • Experience in the academic or nonprofit sectors

  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with minimal supervision

  • Ability to freehand draw illustrations, create digital designs, and produce short videos 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Flexible and open to feedback

  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish is a bonus

  • Experience designing for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube 

  • Understanding of carousel design strategy and engagement-driven layouts

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Job-Related Duties

​​​​​

The ECP Assistant may (but is not limited to):

​

  • Provide availability via email to respond to communications

    • ​Communicate with the Manager assigned to a task as needed and attend coordinated virtual meetings

    • Participate in virtual meetings with other team members or members of management as needed

    • Submit hours worked (if applicable) no later than midnight local time on Sunday prior to payroll on designated form
       

    Assist with Communications department tasks, such as:

    • ​Database work, including:

      • ​Updating existing digital contact databases as requested to be sure our contact lists are as up-to-date as possible

      • Adding new contacts for primary (ages 8+), secondary schools (ages 12-18), postsecondary schools (ages 18+), colleges, as well as approved community-audience venues, as assigned

      • Assisting with the creation of new database formats

      • Keeping an accurate record of all newly added databases/venues/contacts

    • Researching appropriate regions to identify contact information for new venues, as assigned

    • Sending outreach information through a variety of avenues, including but not limited to Gmail and other email platforms, and press release submissions

    • Organizing data uploads through Google Sheets, Hubspot, and other platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

​​​

  • Proficient in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets

  • Experience in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud applications

  • Experience in Hubspot or similar CRMs

  • Experience with information research and/or experience in an educational setting

  • Experience with email marketing platforms and campaign management is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills and savvy attention to detail

  • Interest in ECP outreach and/or educational offerings
