ATLANTA, April 1, 2025 – The Educated Choices Program (ECP) proudly announces the second installment in its Bite-Sized Learning Series for ages 8 to 11: “Eat for Your Health: Creating a Colorful Plate.” This engaging education package introduces young learners to the fundamentals of healthy, mindful eating by highlighting the nutritional value of plant-based foods and how they can be combined to create balanced, delicious meals.

In the 12-minute video, viewers join Emma, an ECP student ambassador, and Sam, a curious student, as they discover the key components of a nutritious plate. Through their journey, students learn about the benefits of variety, the role of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant-powered proteins, and the importance of essential vitamins and minerals — all presented in a clear, accessible way that resonates with younger audiences.

Accompanying the video is a complete set of educational resources, including guided notes, lesson plans, discussion prompts, homework assignments, and classroom activities. Together, these tools help reinforce core concepts from the video and educate students to make informed food choices.

At the end of the video, students are invited into a colorful, comic book-style section featuring superhero foods representing each food group. This playful conclusion adds an extra layer of engagement and fun while reinforcing the information discussed throughout the video.

Eat for Your Health: Creating a Colorful Plate” is available for free now in the ECP Video Library, alongside the first in the series, “Eat for the Earth: Helping the Planet with Every Bite.”
