Named Constellation Energy's 2022 Community Champion

ATLANTA, December 14, 2022 - The Educated Choices Program (ECP) has been named one of Constellation’s Community Champions and received a grant for “The Planet and Our Plates,” an upcoming presentation made in collaboration with EARTHDAY.ORG.

Earlier this year, ECP announced a partnership with EARTHDAY.ORG, the world’s largest environmental movement, to develop a presentation that looks extensively into the many ways our current food systems affect the planet, including deforestation, waste management, plastic packaging, and more. “The Planet and Our Plates” presentation will serve as a more advanced follow-up to one of ECP’s most booked presentations, “The Environment and Modern Agriculture,” which presents the connections between our food systems and current environmental issues.

The Educated Choices Program’s free educational presentations and tools have proven to be effective, with nearly 50% of viewers reporting making mindful changes to their diets. ECP estimates these positive actions save at least 156,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. “The Planet and Our Plates” will be accessible online 24/7 for free to all English-speaking viewers in early 2023.

Receiving the Constellation’s Community Champions Grant not only assists with our continued growth and expansion of food choice education programs but also serves as a shining example of how environmentally-minded organizations can assist each other across varied sectors. We are honored to share the mission of creating a more sustainable future with Constellations Energy!” - ECP Chief Development and Partnerships Officer Karyn Knox

Constellation has a strong track record of powering communities by making an impact across a range of fronts in the communities it serves and where its employees live and work.
