ATLANTA, July 16, 2025 — The Educated Choices Program (ECP), a nonprofit founded in Atlanta, Georgia, has received two local grants through the Walmart Spark Good program. The funding was awarded by Walmart locations to support health and well-being in the greater Atlanta area:

a location point with the state of Georgia on it, between two flat graphic store locations representing Lawrenceville and Buford, Georgia
Grant locations: 1400 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30044, and 3795 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30519

These two grants will support the Educated Choices Program’s upcoming education package on cardiovascular health that is currently being developed in partnership with Doctors for Nutrition, as well as two additional health-focused packages that will be released in the future. ECP users have repeatedly shown interest in materials about personal and public well-being, with topical resources reaching over 1 million individuals globally in over 53 countries, encouraging the organization to develop more education packages on the subject.

Although ECP now serves schools and communities internationally, its roots run deep in Georgia. The organization was founded in the greater Atlanta area, the hometown of CEO and founder Lorena Mucke, and continues to prioritize local impact alongside its global mission with outreach efforts in Atlanta. These grants are especially meaningful because each local store independently reviews applications and selects the organizations they believe in, making this recognition from the Georgia community especially appreciated.

"We are deeply grateful to Walmart's Spark Good program for supporting ECP with these generous grants, especially from local stores where the magic began close to home and close to heart,” said Lorena Mucke, CEO of the Educated Choices Program. “These grants help bring food education to more students in our local communities, creating a lasting impact where it matters most."

This support follows ECP’s involvement in Walmart’s Spark Good program, which opens the door for non-profits to apply for local grant opportunities and participate in associate giving programs and round-up donations.
