At a time when our food systems are deeply intertwined with our health, our communities, and our planet, food education has never been more crucial. The choices we make at the table each day shape our well-being, our environmental footprint, and the kind of future we create for generations to come.
Yet millions of people around the world still lack access to clear and empowering information about the impact of their food choices. This is not just a gap in knowledge. It is a missed opportunity to improve lives, reduce food waste, protect the Earth, and deepen our connection to food.
The Power of Food Education
At the Educated Choices Program, we believe that informed choices begin with honest information. We provide free, science-based education to students and communities in 67 countries across the globe. Our digital learning content is teacher-approved, trusted by millions, and created to meet the needs of diverse audiences in both formal and informal learning settings.
In our work, we witness how curiosity sparks awareness and inspires change. We see how students light up when they understand how their food choices connect to their future. We see how access to trustworthy education promotes personal responsibility and inspires people to take better care of themselves and the world around them. We also hear that more than 90% of our viewers plan to make positive food choices, such as adding more fruits and vegetables to their diet or reducing red meat consumption.
Collaborations for a Cause
We are proud to partner with leading health and environmental organizations that share our commitment to education accessibility, including EarthDay.org, Doctors for Nutrition, the Environmental Working Group, and many others. These partnerships expand our reach and amplify the importance of food education as a foundation for both personal and planetary health.
That is why I am honored to speak at the 2025 European Vegan Summit during the panel titled “Food Education 2.0: How Much Do We Really Know About What We Eat?” I will join an inspiring group of educators, public leaders, and changemakers to explore how food education can become a powerful tool for meaningful, long-lasting transformation.
The European Vegan Summit provides a powerful platform for collaboration. Whether it is a teacher advancing inclusion in the classroom, a policymaker transforming school meals, or a nonprofit reaching underserved communities, each story shared during this event conveys the same message: education has the power to shape a more sustainable, compassionate, and healthier future for all.
Academics alongside Advocacy
The Educated Choices Program is not an advocacy organization. We are a nonprofit education organization providing science-based, non-biased information about the impact of global food systems on personal and planetary health. We do not tell people what to eat or label foods as “good” and “bad” or “right” and “wrong.” Instead, we help our viewers understand how their food choices impact their health, the environment, and society, using the most recent and reputable data. With that knowledge, they are empowered to make decisions that reflect their own goals, values, and circumstances.
Continuing the Conversation
I invite you to join us for this important discussion on September 10 at 6:45 PM CET. If you care about public health, food equity, or environmental progress, this conversation will offer insight, connection, and hope.
And if you are just discovering the Educated Choices Program, I encourage you to explore our free resources. They are created to inspire reflection and critical thinking, foster understanding, and support positive change for both individuals and the planet we all share.
We are proud to participate in educating consumers. Because when we understand what we eat, we are better equipped to nourish ourselves and contribute to a healthier world.
